We are now into the new year, it’s natural to feel a mix of emotions—excitement for what’s ahead and uncertainty about what lies beyond the horizon. The unknown can feel intimidating, especially when we face new challenges or step outside of our comfort zones. But here’s the truth: fear is not our master, and the unknown is not our enemy.
Faith is the bridge that carries us from where we are to where we’re meant to be. It’s the quiet, unwavering trust that God’s plan for our lives is greater than anything we could imagine for ourselves.
The Power of Faith in the Face of Fear
Fear is loud. It whispers doubts, creates obstacles in our minds, and convinces us to settle for less. Faith, however, speaks in a steady voice, reminding us that we are not alone.
When we walk by faith, we step forward even when the path isn’t clear. Faith doesn’t mean we won’t feel fear—it means we move forward despite it, trusting that God is with us every step of the way.
Think of all the moments in your life when you didn’t know how things would work out but took a leap of faith anyway. Those moments were scary, but they were also the ones that stretched you, grew you, and revealed the strength you didn’t know you had.
Trusting God’s Plan Brings Unexpected Blessings
Trusting God’s plan isn’t always easy, especially when life doesn’t unfold the way we expect. But His timing is perfect, and His blessings often come in ways we don’t anticipate.
I’ve learned that when I surrender my fears and plans to Him, He makes a way even when I can’t see one. The job I didn’t think I could do? He gave me the strength to excel. The opportunity I thought I wasn’t ready for? He prepared me in ways I didn’t even realize.
God’s plan is always bigger than our fears. He sees the full picture when we can only see a piece. When we trust Him, He takes what feels like uncertainty and turns it into purpose.
Stepping Boldly Into 2025
I want to encourage you to approach this year with courage and hope. Whatever challenges lie ahead, know that you are equipped to face them.
• Replace fear with faith: When doubts creep in, remind yourself that God has never failed you before, and He won’t start now.
• Focus on His promises: Write down scriptures or affirmations that remind you of His faithfulness. Keep them close when fear tries to take over.
• Take the first step: You don’t need to have the entire plan figured out. Take one small step forward, trusting that God will meet you there.
A Message from My Heart
As I prepare to release my upcoming book, “I’m Not Just Another Angry Black Woman,” in February, I am reminded of how faith has carried me through every moment of uncertainty. This book is the result of stepping boldly into my purpose, trusting that my words could make an impact even when I doubted myself.
This book is for you—for the women who walk by faith, who refuse to be defined by fear, and who are ready to step into the fullness of their calling.
Let’s make 2025 a year of faith over fear. Together, let’s embrace the unknown with the confidence that we are guided by a God who loves us, provides for us, and carries us through every challenge.
With love and faith,
Lakeysha
