It’s Christmas Day .
And for some of us, this day comes with mixed emotions.
Joy and gratitude…
But also reminders of what’s missing.
Empty chairs. Tight budgets. Silent prayers that still haven’t been answered.
But here’s the good news:
Jesus didn’t wait for perfection to show up.
He came into the mess.
Born in a manger. Surrounded by hay, animals, and the unexpected.
And that is exactly why you don’t have to “have it all together” to receive His presence today.
🐑 The First Christmas Wasn’t Instagram-Worthy
We love the lights and gifts and cinnamon-scented everything.
But the real Christmas story?
It was raw. Real. Holy in ways we wouldn’t expect.
Mary was young and scared.
Joseph was likely overwhelmed.
And Jesus was born in the least glamorous setting imaginable — a place for animals, not royalty.
That’s where God chose to show up.
Not in the comfort of a castle, but in the chaos of a stable.
That means your mess doesn’t disqualify you from miracles.
✨ There’s Glory in Your Now
You might be waiting on a promise — healing, restoration, love, or breakthrough.
And it might feel like you’re behind because the calendar says December 25th and it still hasn’t happened yet.
But God’s timeline is not ours.
And His power doesn’t operate on holiday pressure.
Today, you are not forgotten.
You are not being punished.
You are not “behind schedule.”
You are held. Covered. Remembered. Chosen.
Right in your current season. Right in your not-so-picture-perfect story.
🕯️ This Christmas, Make Room for Presence — Not Perfection
Here’s your permission to:
Rest instead of rushing Laugh even if you’re still healing Light a candle and breathe deep Cry if you need to — Jesus understands Celebrate the little joys: a warm drink, a good playlist, a whispered prayer answered in part
You don’t have to fake it to make it through the holidays.
You just have to receive the gift that’s already here: God with us. Emmanuel.
📖 Scripture to Hold Close
“And she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.”
— Luke 2:7 (NIV)
God still comes into places that feel overlooked.
🙏🏽 A Christmas Prayer
Dear Lord,
Thank You for showing up in the messiest parts of life.
For reminding us that Your love is not based on our performance but Your presence.
Help us to breathe deep, slow down, and receive the beauty of today.
Let our hearts be open to joy, even in simplicity.
Let this Christmas be marked by peace, not pressure.
And for everyone who is waiting on a promise — remind them You’re still moving.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
