A Soulful Sunday message on growth, grace, and emotional honesty
Sis…
healing doesn’t mean every day feels good.
It doesn’t mean you wake up peaceful, unbothered, and completely whole.
It doesn’t mean the memories stop.
It doesn’t mean the triggers disappear overnight.
Some days… you still feel it.
The heaviness.
The sadness.
The frustration.
The emotional waves that come out of nowhere.
And you start to wonder:
“Am I even healing?”
Healing Isn’t Linear — It’s Layered
One day you feel strong.
The next day, you feel sensitive.
One moment you feel at peace.
The next moment, you’re overthinking everything.
That doesn’t mean you’re going backwards.
That means you’re human.
Healing doesn’t happen in a straight line.
It happens in layers.
God heals you piece by piece, not all at once.
Hard Days Don’t Cancel Your Progress
Sis… just because you had a moment
doesn’t mean you lost your growth.
Crying again doesn’t mean you’re back at the beginning.
Feeling triggered doesn’t mean you’re not healed.
Having a hard day doesn’t erase the work you’ve done.
You’re not starting over.
You’re processing deeper.
Give Yourself the Same Grace God Gives You
Sometimes you’re harder on yourself than God is.
You expect perfection.
You expect constant strength.
You expect yourself to “be over it” by now.
But God isn’t rushing your healing.
He’s walking with you through it.
On your good days.
On your hard days.
On the days you feel strong…
and the days you don’t.
You don’t have to pretend to be okay with Him.
Healing Looks Like Staying — Not Perfection
Healing isn’t about never feeling pain again.
It’s about:
staying when things feel uncomfortable
choosing yourself even on hard days
giving yourself grace instead of judgment
continuing forward, even if it’s slow
The fact that you’re still trying…
still praying…
still growing…
That’s healing.
Scripture Meditation
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
— 2 Corinthians 12:9
God’s strength doesn’t show up when you’re perfect.
It shows up when you’re real.
Affirmations for This Season
✨ I am healing, even on hard days.
✨ My progress is not erased by my emotions.
✨ I give myself grace as I grow.
✨ I am allowed to feel and still move forward.
✨ God is with me in every part of my healing.
Closing Word
Sis…
you don’t have to have it all together to be healing.
You don’t have to be perfect to be progressing.
You don’t have to feel strong every day to be growing.
Some days will be softer.
Some days will be harder.
But all of it?
It’s part of your healing.
And you’re doing better than you think. 🤎✨
