✨ Don’t Miss the Life You Prayed For Looking for the Next Blessing

Happy Sunday 🫶🏽

A Soulful Sunday message about gratitude, presence, and recognizing God in the ordinary.

Sis…

Can I lovingly call us out for a minute?

Sometimes we are so busy asking God, “What’s next?” that we forget to thank Him for “what’s now.”

We’re waiting for the bigger house.

The better job.

The relationship.

The business breakthrough.

The financial increase.

The next level.

The answered prayer.

And there is absolutely nothing wrong with wanting more for your life.

Dream.

Pray.

Plan.

Build.

Believe God for big things.

But sis…

Don’t become so obsessed with your next blessing that you fail to recognize the blessings already sitting at your table.

Because some of what feels ordinary today was once something you prayed desperately for.

🌿 Remember When You Prayed for This?

Think about it.

There are things in your life right now that an older version of you would’ve cried tears of gratitude to have.

Maybe it’s peace.

Maybe it’s independence.

Maybe it’s a healthy relationship.

Maybe it’s a job you once prayed for.

Maybe it’s your children growing up.

Maybe it’s having your own business.

Maybe it’s simply waking up without the heaviness you once carried.

And because you’ve become accustomed to it, what once felt like a miracle now feels normal.

That’s human.

But every now and then, we need to stop and say:

“God, I remember when I prayed for this.”

Whew.

That’ll change your perspective quickly.

🌿 The Blessing Isn’t Always Loud

We tend to notice God when something BIG happens.

The door opens.

The money comes.

The diagnosis changes.

The opportunity arrives.

The prayer gets answered exactly the way we hoped.

And yes—celebrate those moments!

But God is also present in Tuesday afternoon.

He’s present in groceries in the refrigerator.

He’s present in the friend who checks on you.

He’s present in laughter coming from another room.

He’s present in a quiet morning.

He’s present in the strength you somehow found to get out of bed.

He’s present in another chance to try again.

Some miracles don’t make announcements.

They quietly become your everyday life.

🌿 Stop Moving the Finish Line on Your Happiness

Have you ever told yourself:

“I’ll finally be happy when…”

When I make more money.

When I lose the weight.

When I get married.

When I buy the house.

When the kids get older.

When my business grows.

When life settles down.

And then something happens.

You reach the goal…

and immediately create another one.

Sis, if we’re not careful, we’ll spend our entire lives chasing a future moment where we’ve decided we’re finally allowed to enjoy ourselves.

You don’t have to wait until everything is perfect to experience joy.

Joy is available here too.

🌿 Gratitude Doesn’t Mean You Stop Wanting More

Sometimes people misunderstand gratitude.

Being grateful doesn’t mean you don’t have goals.

It doesn’t mean you stop asking God for more.

It doesn’t mean you pretend everything in your life is perfect.

Gratitude simply says:

“God, while I’m believing You for what’s next, I refuse to disrespect what You’ve already done.”

You can want more and appreciate what you have.

You can be healing and grateful.

You can be building and content.

You can be waiting and still enjoy your life.

Those things can exist together.

🌿 Maybe This Is Part of the Good Old Days

Sis…

One day you’re going to miss something about this season.

I know.

Even this messy one.

One day you’ll look at an old picture and remember how young everybody looked.

You’ll remember a conversation.

A Sunday afternoon.

A family gathering.

The way your children laughed.

The friend who lived nearby.

The home you couldn’t wait to upgrade.

The season you thought was so ordinary.

And you’ll realize:

“Wow… those were beautiful days.”

So why wait until life becomes a memory to appreciate it?

Take the picture.

Go to dinner.

Call your friend.

Wear the outfit.

Use the good dishes.

Laugh loudly.

Celebrate small wins.

Sit outside.

Watch the sunset.

Thank God.

Live your life while you’re living it.

📖 Scripture Meditation

“This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24

Not tomorrow.

Not when everything works out.

Not when you finally get everything you’ve been asking for.

This is the day.

There is something worth thanking God for today.

🌸 Soul Work for This Week

Ask yourself:

What do I have today that I once prayed for?

What ordinary blessing have I stopped noticing?

Have I been postponing my happiness until something else happens?

Who or what in my life deserves more appreciation from me?

And finally:

If I knew I would someday miss this season, what would I appreciate more about it today?

🤎 Closing Word

Sis…

Keep dreaming.

Keep building.

Keep believing God for more.

I hope some ridiculously beautiful blessings find you.

I hope doors open that make you say, “Girl… GOD DID THAT!” 😂🙌🏽

I hope you experience abundance, love, peace, purpose, opportunities, and prayers answered beyond what you imagined.

But while you’re waiting for all of that…

Don’t miss this.

Don’t miss Sunday afternoon.

Don’t miss your people.

Don’t miss your laughter.

Don’t miss your growth.

Don’t miss the little moments because you’re waiting for a big one.

Your life doesn’t begin when the next blessing arrives.

Your life is happening right now.

And maybe today doesn’t need to be extraordinary to be sacred.

Maybe the blessing today is simply:

You’re here.

You’re growing.

You’re loved.

God is with you.

And you still have time to create beautiful memories.

So walk into this week with your eyes open, sis.

There are blessings all around you.

Don’t wait until they’re memories to realize they were miracles.

Happy Soulful Sunday. 🤎✨
