✨ Devotional — The Courage to Say No

📖 Scripture

“Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.” — Proverbs 4:23

🌿 Reflection

Sis…

Not every act of faith looks like saying yes.

Sometimes faith looks like saying no.

No to the relationship that keeps draining you.

No to the responsibility that was never yours to carry.

No to the guilt that tells you everyone else’s needs matter more than your own.

For many of us, boundaries feel uncomfortable because we’ve confused access with love. We’ve been taught that being kind means always being available and that being faithful means enduring everything.

But God never asked you to sacrifice your peace to prove your love.

He asked you to guard your heart.

Boundaries are not walls meant to keep people out. They are doors that help you decide what deserves access.

Sometimes the answer to your prayer isn’t God changing the people around you.

Sometimes it’s God giving you the courage to stop tolerating what is hurting you.

Sis, that boundary you’ve been afraid to set may be the very thing that protects your healing, restores your peace, and creates room for what God is trying to do next.

🌸 Affirmation

I do not have to earn love through overgiving. God gives me permission to protect my peace and honor my boundaries.

🤎 Prayer

God, give me wisdom to recognize what is draining me and courage to create healthy boundaries. Help me release the guilt that comes with saying no and remind me that protecting my peace is not selfish. Teach me to guard my heart and trust that obedience to You is more important than pleasing everyone else. Amen.
