SOULFUL SUNDAY DEVOTIONAL

GOD, HELP ME TRUST WHAT I CANNOT SEE

📖 SCRIPTURE

“For we live by faith, not by sight.” — 2 Corinthians 5:7

🌿 REFLECTION

Sis…

It is much easier to trust God when you can see something happening.

When the door opens.

When the money comes.

When the opportunity appears.

When the prayer gets answered.

When everything starts falling into place.

That’s when we’re shouting:

“Won’t He do it!” 😂🙌🏽

But what about when God gets quiet?

What about when you’ve prayed…and nothing seems to change?

What about when you’re doing the work, trying to grow, making better decisions, and still don’t see the results?

Those seasons require a different kind of faith.

Faith that doesn’t need constant evidence.

Sometimes you have to trust that God is working even when you cannot see His hands moving.

Think about a seed underground.

For a while, there is no evidence above the surface that anything is happening.

But beneath the soil?

Something is changing.

Roots are forming.

Growth is happening.

Preparation is taking place.

And sis, maybe that’s where you are.

Maybe you’re in your root season.

God may be strengthening things inside you before anything changes around you.

Your discernment.

Your confidence.

Your patience.

Your boundaries.

Your faith.

Your ability to recognize healthy love.

Your ability to walk away from what isn’t good for you.

Your ability to trust God without needing to control every outcome.

Sometimes we pray for God to change our circumstances while God is saying:

“I’m changing YOU first.”

And that’s not punishment.

That’s preparation.

Because God doesn’t only care about getting the blessing to you.

He cares about who you become when it arrives.

So don’t assume nothing is happening simply because nothing is visible yet.

Don’t dig up the seed because you’re nervous.

Don’t force the door because you’re tired of waiting.

Don’t settle because God’s timing feels too slow.

And please don’t compare your underground season to somebody else’s harvest.

You don’t know how long their roots were growing either.

Keep trusting.

Keep watering.

Keep praying.

Keep becoming.

One day, what God has been doing quietly may become very visible.

And you may finally realize:

God wasn’t ignoring me.

He was preparing me.

✨ AFFIRMATION

I trust God even when I cannot see what He is doing.

I will not confuse silence with abandonment.

I will not rush what God is developing.

I will not force what God has asked me to trust Him with.

Something is growing in me, even when I cannot see it yet.

God has not forgotten me.

My quiet season still has purpose.

🤎 PRAYER

Father,

Sometimes waiting is hard.

Sometimes I look around and wonder if anything is changing.

I see other people receiving answers, opportunities, breakthroughs, and blessings, and sometimes I wonder when my turn will come.

Help me trust You without comparing my journey.

When I cannot see movement, remind me that You can still be working.

When I become impatient, give me peace.

When I want to force something, give me discernment.

When I start believing that You’ve forgotten me, remind me of Your faithfulness.

Strengthen my roots in this season.

Build my character.

Heal what still needs healing.

Strengthen my boundaries.

Deepen my faith.

Teach me patience without making me passive.

Give me wisdom to know when to move and when to wait.

And Father, prepare me not only to receive what I’ve prayed for, but to have the wisdom and maturity to sustain it.

I release my timeline.

I release my need to know everything.

I release the pressure to make things happen.

What belongs in my hands, give me courage to do.

What belongs in Your hands, give me faith to leave there.

I trust You with what I can see.

And I trust You with what I cannot.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

🌸 JOURNAL PROMPT

Ask yourself:

What if God isn’t saying “no”—what if something is simply still developing?

Then write:

What is this waiting season developing in me?

Where have I grown?

What am I handling differently than I would have a year ago?

What have I stopped tolerating?

What has God taught me about myself?

And finally:

What do I need to stop trying to force?

🤎 SUNDAY REMINDER

Sis…

Don’t panic because it’s quiet.

Don’t assume you’ve been forgotten.

Don’t start digging up everything you’ve planted just because you haven’t seen anything sprout yet. 😩😂

Let the roots grow.

There are things happening in you that you may not recognize until later.

You are becoming wiser.

Stronger.

More discerning.

More peaceful.

More secure.

More comfortable with saying no.

Less willing to chase what doesn’t choose you.

Less impressed by chaos disguised as excitement.

And more willing to trust God with the unknown.

That’s growth.

So if nothing dramatic happens this week, don’t assume nothing happened.

Sometimes God does His deepest work quietly.

You may not see it yet, sis…but something is growing.

Keep the faith. 🤎🌱✨
