✨ Soulful Sunday: The Woman God Is Calling You to Become Has to Leave Something Behind

You can’t step into your next season carrying yesterday’s baggage.

Sis…

Can I ask you something?

What are you still carrying that God never asked you to hold?

Is it guilt?

The opinions of people?

A relationship that already ended?

The pressure to have it all figured out?

The version of yourself that no longer fits?

Sometimes we pray for a new season while dragging around the weight of the old one.

We ask God to open new doors…

But we’re still standing in front of the closed ones.

Maybe that’s why this week feels heavy.

Not because God has abandoned you…

But because you’re exhausted from carrying things that were never yours to carry.

Growth Always Requires Letting Go

Every new level in life asks a question:

“What are you willing to leave behind?”

A butterfly can’t become a butterfly while clinging to its cocoon.

A tree doesn’t apologize every autumn for losing its leaves.

The leaves aren’t punishment.

They’re preparation.

What looked like loss…

Was actually making room for new life.

Maybe that’s where you are today.

Not losing.

Making room.

Stop Mourning the Woman God Already Delivered You From

Sometimes we become attached to old versions of ourselves.

The people pleaser.

The woman who settled.

The woman who apologized for existing.

The woman who chased people who wouldn’t choose her.

The woman who believed her value depended on what she could do for everyone else.

Sis…

Thank her.

She survived.

But she doesn’t have to lead anymore.

You are becoming someone different.

Someone softer.

Stronger.

Wiser.

More discerning.

More peaceful.

More rooted in God’s love than in people’s approval.

Don’t keep resurrecting the woman God already healed.

You Don’t Need Permission to Grow

One of the hardest parts of healing is realizing that not everyone benefits from the healthier version of you.

Some people loved you…

when you had no boundaries.

Some celebrated you…

when you constantly overextended yourself.

Some preferred the version of you that stayed small enough to make them comfortable.

But healing changes you.

And that’s okay.

Not everyone is meant to understand the woman God is creating.

Their misunderstanding doesn’t cancel your calling.

Heaven Isn’t Asking You to Be Perfect

God isn’t waiting for you to become flawless before He uses you.

He’s asking for your heart.

Your honesty.

Your willingness.

Your faith.

The woman God is shaping isn’t fearless.

She just refuses to let fear make her decisions anymore.

She isn’t perfect.

She’s surrendered.

And there’s a big difference.

Scripture Meditation

“Forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?”

— Isaiah 43:18–19 (NIV)

Notice…

God didn’t say He might do something new.

He said,

“I AM doing a new thing.”

The question isn’t whether He’s working.

The question is whether we’re willing to let go long enough to notice it.

Soul Work for This Week

Ask yourself:

✨ What belief no longer belongs in my life?

✨ What relationship have I outgrown?

✨ What fear keeps me from becoming who God created me to be?

✨ What would change if I truly believed I was already enough?

Closing Thoughts

Sis…

You don’t have to become someone else.

You simply have to stop holding on to who you’ve outgrown.

The woman God has for this next season isn’t waiting somewhere in the future.

She’s already growing inside of you.

Every boundary you set…

Every prayer you pray…

Every tear you’ve cried…

Every time you’ve chosen peace over chaos…

She’s emerging.

Walk into this week lighter.

Walk into it hopeful.

Walk into it believing that every “goodbye” God asks of you is making room for a greater “hello.”

Because sometimes…

the greatest miracle isn’t that God changes your circumstances.

It’s that He changes you.

Happy Soulful Sunday, sis.

Keep becoming.

God isn’t finished yet. 🤎
