✨ Maybe the Blessing Is Who You’re Becoming

Happy Sunday 🙏🏽

A Soulful Sunday Message

Sis…

What if the blessing isn’t only the thing you’ve been praying for?

What if part of the blessing is who you’re becoming while you wait for it?

We spend so much time looking for the big moment.

The new opportunity.

The healthy relationship.

The financial breakthrough.

The answered prayer.

The moment when everything finally comes together and we can say, “God did it!”

But sometimes we become so focused on what we want God to change around us that we miss what He has already changed within us.

Maybe the miracle has already started.

And sis…

Maybe you are part of it.

Look at What Doesn’t Control You Anymore

There was a time when one person’s rejection could ruin your entire week.

There was a time when you needed everyone to understand you.

There was a time when you would chase an explanation, ignore a red flag, break your own boundary, or beg someone to give you what you should’ve never had to beg for.

But look at you now.

You’re learning to pause.

You’re learning to pray.

You’re learning that everything doesn’t deserve a reaction.

You’re learning that losing access to someone doesn’t mean you’ve lost yourself.

That is growth.

And growth deserves to be celebrated too.

Some Blessings Don’t Look Like Blessings at First

We usually imagine blessings as additions.

More money.

More opportunities.

More relationships.

More success.

But some of God’s greatest blessings come through removal.

The friendship ending.

The door closing.

The plan changing.

The thing you desperately wanted not working out.

At first, it may not feel like a blessing at all.

But sometimes God has to empty your hands before you realize how tightly you were holding onto something that was hurting you.

And months later, you find yourself saying:

“God… thank You for not giving me what I thought I needed.”

Whew.

That’s growth, sis.

You’re Becoming Harder to Distract

The healed version of you doesn’t need everything the hurting version of you once chased.

Your appetite changes.

Chaos isn’t exciting anymore.

Inconsistency isn’t attractive anymore.

Being chosen isn’t enough anymore—you want to be valued.

Being busy isn’t enough anymore—you want to be purposeful.

Having people around isn’t enough anymore—you want genuine connection.

You’re not becoming difficult.

You’re becoming discerning.

And discernment will make you uncomfortable in places you once begged to belong.

Don’t Rush Past the Woman You’re Becoming

Sometimes we’re so busy asking:

“God, when is it going to happen?”

that we forget to ask:

“God, what are You doing in me while I’m here?”

Maybe this season isn’t only about getting somewhere.

Maybe it’s about becoming someone.

More peaceful.

More confident.

More emotionally whole.

More spiritually grounded.

More comfortable saying no.

More willing to walk away from what disturbs your peace.

More secure in God’s love.

More YOU.

Sis, that woman is a blessing too.

Your Healing Is Evidence That God Has Been Moving

You may not have everything you prayed for yet.

But maybe you sleep a little better now.

Maybe you don’t cry over the same things anymore.

Maybe you’re learning to forgive yourself.

Maybe you’re setting boundaries without writing a five-paragraph explanation afterward. 😂

Maybe you finally understand:

“I actually deserve better than this.”

Don’t minimize those victories because nobody applauded them.

Internal breakthroughs matter too.

God changing your heart is still God answering prayers.

📖 Scripture Meditation

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

Sometimes we keep waiting for God to reveal something new around us while He’s saying:

“Look at the new thing I’m creating in you.”

🌿 Soul Work for This Week

Instead of only asking God for what’s next, take some time to acknowledge what has already changed.

Ask yourself:

What doesn’t hurt like it used to?

What am I no longer willing to tolerate?

Where have I become stronger?

What have I learned about myself?

How has my relationship with God changed?

You might discover that you’ve come much farther than you’ve been giving yourself credit for.

🤎 Closing Word

Sis…

Keep praying for the breakthrough.

Keep believing for the opportunity.

Keep expecting God to do beautiful things in your life.

But don’t become so focused on the blessing coming to you that you miss the blessing happening inside of you.

Because one day you’re going to look at yourself and realize:

You’re calmer.

You’re wiser.

You’re stronger.

You’re softer in the right places and firmer where boundaries belong.

You’re no longer begging to be chosen.

You’re no longer forcing what doesn’t fit.

You’re no longer abandoning yourself just to keep somebody else.

And suddenly you’ll realize…

God answered more prayers than you thought.

Some answers just didn’t arrive as things.

They arrived as transformation.

So today, celebrate her.

Celebrate the woman you’re becoming.

Because sis…

Maybe she’s been one of the blessings all along. 🤎✨

Happy Soulful Sunday.
