A Soulful Sunday message about releasing pressure, trusting God, and allowing yourself to take life one day at a time.
Sis…
Can I free you from something today?
You do not have to figure out your whole life this week.
You don’t need all the answers by Monday.
You don’t need to know exactly what your next six months will look like.
You don’t have to solve every problem, make every decision, heal every wound, accomplish every goal, and become the best version of yourself before Friday. 😩😂
Baby…that is A LOT.
Sometimes we create anxiety trying to answer questions that life hasn’t even asked us yet.
What if this happens?
What if that doesn’t work?
What if I make the wrong decision?
What if I’m behind?
What if everybody else gets there before me?
Meanwhile, God is like:
“Can we just handle TODAY?” 😂
And maybe that’s the word you need this Soulful Sunday.
Come back to today.
🌿 YOU’RE CARRYING TOMORROW BEFORE IT GETS HERE
Some of us are exhausted from situations that haven’t even happened.
Think about that.
Our bodies are sitting in Sunday, but our minds are already in next month.
We’re rehearsing conversations that haven’t happened.
Preparing for problems that may never come.
Trying to predict outcomes we cannot control.
And then wondering why we feel mentally exhausted.
Jesus said something powerful in Matthew 6:34:
“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
In other words:
Sis…
Stay here.
Tomorrow will arrive when tomorrow arrives.
And when it does, the same God who is with you today will already be there.
🌿 YOU DON’T NEED ALL THE ANSWERS TO KEEP MOVING
Sometimes we think clarity means knowing the entire plan.
It doesn’t.
Sometimes clarity is simply knowing:
This is what I need to do today.
Maybe today you need to make the phone call.
Submit the application.
Take the walk.
Finish the assignment.
Have the conversation.
Pray.
Rest.
Drink some water because apparently we forget that too. 😂
Whatever your next step is, take it.
You don’t need step 17 when God is showing you step 2.
We create unnecessary frustration when we demand a map while God is giving us a lamp.
Psalm 119:105 says:
“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.”
A lamp doesn’t illuminate ten miles ahead.
It gives enough light for the next few steps.
And sometimes, sis, that is enough.
🌿 STOP MAKING YOURSELF FEEL BEHIND
This one is important.
You are not behind because your life looks different from somebody else’s.
Social media will have you questioning your entire existence before breakfast. 😩😂
Somebody bought a house.
Somebody got married.
Somebody launched a business.
Somebody lost 40 pounds.
Somebody is traveling through Italy looking peaceful in a linen dress.
And you’re sitting there like:
“Lord…am I doing life wrong?” 😂
No.
Their life is theirs.
Your life is yours.
There is no universal timeline for becoming who God created you to be.
Some things take longer because they require deeper roots.
Some seasons aren’t about visible accomplishments.
Some seasons are about healing.
Learning.
Unlearning.
Resting.
Developing discipline.
Building confidence.
Strengthening your relationship with God.
Discovering who you are.
Just because nobody can applaud what God is doing internally doesn’t mean nothing is happening.
🌿 MAYBE THIS SEASON ISN’T ASKING YOU TO DO MORE
What if your next level doesn’t require more pressure?
What if it requires more peace?
We have become so accustomed to believing that growth must always feel like hustle.
But sometimes growth looks like:
Not responding.
Going to bed.
Changing your mind.
Saying no.
Taking something off your schedule.
Walking away from what constantly drains you.
Allowing someone else to solve their own problem.
Not explaining yourself for the 47th time. 😂
Sometimes the healthiest thing you can do is stop adding more to your life and start asking:
What needs to be removed?
You may not need another goal.
You might need room to breathe.
🌿 GOD IS NOT ANXIOUS ABOUT YOUR FUTURE
I want you to sit with that.
The situation keeping you awake at night?
God isn’t pacing heaven saying:
“Whew…I don’t know what we’re going to do about this one.” 😩😂
God sees what you cannot see.
He knows what is ahead.
He knows which doors will open.
He knows which doors need to remain closed.
He knows who will stay.
He knows who will leave.
He knows what you’ll need.
He knows what you’re becoming.
And while that doesn’t mean everything will happen exactly how you want it to, it does mean you don’t have to navigate life believing everything depends solely on you.
Proverbs 3:5–6 reminds us:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.”
Sometimes trust sounds like:
“God, I don’t know what’s next, but I trust You enough to handle what’s in front of me.”
🌿 GIVE YOURSELF PERMISSION TO LIVE WHILE YOU’RE FIGURING IT OUT
Please don’t postpone your entire life until everything makes sense.
You can laugh while you’re healing.
You can enjoy today while you’re waiting for tomorrow.
You can celebrate small wins while bigger prayers remain unanswered.
You can have questions and still have peace.
You can be uncertain and still be grateful.
You can be a work in progress and still love the woman you are right now.
Life isn’t something that begins after you finally get everything together.
This is life.
Right here.
This Sunday.
This season.
This imperfect, beautiful, confusing, growing version of you.
Don’t miss her because you’re obsessed with becoming the woman you think you’re supposed to be next.
📖 SCRIPTURE MEDITATION
“Give us today our daily bread.”
— Matthew 6:11
I love the simplicity of that prayer.
Daily bread.
Not next month’s bread.
Not next year’s bread.
Today’s.
God, give me what I need for today.
Today’s strength.
Today’s wisdom.
Today’s patience.
Today’s provision.
Today’s grace.
Today’s peace.
And tomorrow?
We’ll talk to God again.
🌸 SOUL WORK FOR THIS WEEK
Ask yourself:
What future problem am I trying to solve today?
What am I putting unnecessary pressure on myself to figure out?
Where have I been comparing my timeline to someone else’s?
What is actually within my control right now?
What can I release to God?
And most importantly:
What does today require from me?
Not the entire month.
Not the entire year.
Today.
Start there.
🤎 CLOSING WORD
Sis…
Maybe you don’t need another five-year plan today.
Maybe you need breakfast, prayer, a little organization, and a nap. 😂
Maybe you don’t need to know exactly where this road leads.
Maybe you just need enough courage for the next step.
There will be things you cannot predict.
There will be plans that change.
There will be prayers that are answered differently than you expected.
There will be seasons when you know exactly what you’re doing…
And seasons when your prayer is basically:
“Jesus…help.” 😩😂
Both are allowed.
You are not failing because you don’t have everything figured out.
You are living.
Learning.
Growing.
Becoming.
And trusting God along the way.
So before you walk into another week carrying the weight of your entire future on your shoulders…
Put it down.
Handle today.
Receive today’s grace.
Enjoy today’s blessings.
Do today’s work.
Pray today’s prayers.
And trust God with tomorrow.
Because you don’t need enough strength for the whole journey today.
You just need enough grace for the step you’re standing in.
Happy Soulful Sunday, sis. 🤎✨
