SOULFUL SUNDAY DEVOTIONAL

GOD, GIVE ME GRACE FOR TODAY

📖 SCRIPTURE

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”
— Matthew 6:34

🌸 REFLECTION

Sis…

How much of today have you spent thinking about tomorrow?

Or next week?

Next month?

Next year?

Sometimes we are asking God for peace while mentally living in five different futures at the same time. 😩

We’re thinking about what could happen, what might happen, what we hope happens, and what we’re afraid will happen.

And before anything has even happened…

We’re exhausted.

But Jesus gives us a simple invitation:

Come back to today.

You don’t need tomorrow’s answers today.

You don’t need next month’s strength today.

You don’t need to know how the entire story turns out today.

You just need grace for TODAY.

Sometimes we think trusting God means having complete confidence about what is going to happen.

But trust can also sound like:

“God, I have absolutely no idea how this is going to work out…but I know I don’t have to figure it all out tonight.” 😂

That is faith too.

Faith doesn’t always give you the entire blueprint.

Sometimes faith gives you enough courage to take one more step.

Enough strength to get through one more day.

Enough wisdom to make one decision.

Enough peace to stop trying to control everything else.

God already knows what tomorrow holds.

You don’t.

And maybe you weren’t supposed to.

Maybe knowing everything would cause you to depend on the plan instead of depending on God.

So when your mind starts running ahead of you, bring yourself back.

Today, I have grace.

Today, I have God.

Today, I have what I need to take the next step.

Tomorrow?

God will meet me there too.

✨ AFFIRMATION

I do not have to figure everything out today.

I release the pressure to know what happens next.

God is with me in this moment, and He will be with me in every moment that follows.

I have enough grace for today.

I have enough strength for today.

I have enough faith for today.

And today is enough.

🤎 PRAYER

Father,

Thank You for reminding me that I do not have to carry tomorrow today.

Sometimes my mind runs ahead of me.

I worry about things that haven’t happened.

I try to predict outcomes I cannot control.

I put pressure on myself to have answers that I simply do not have yet.

Today, I release that pressure.

Help me stay present.

Give me wisdom for the decisions that belong to today and peace about the ones that don’t.

When I start worrying about my future, remind me that You are already there.

When I feel behind, remind me that my journey does not have to look like anyone else’s.

When I want the entire plan, help me trust the next step.

Give me today’s strength for today’s responsibilities.

Today’s wisdom for today’s decisions.

Today’s peace for today’s worries.

And today’s grace for the woman I am becoming.

I trust You with what I can see.

And I trust You with what I cannot.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

🌿 JOURNAL PROMPT

What am I worrying about today that actually belongs to tomorrow?

Write it down.

Then ask yourself:

“Is there something I can realistically do about this today?”

If the answer is yes, identify one small next step.

If the answer is no, practice releasing it.

Write:

“God, this does not belong in my hands today. I give it to You.”

🤎 SUNDAY REMINDER

Sis…

You don’t need next week’s strength on Sunday.

You don’t need next month’s answers today.

You don’t need to know how every prayer will be answered.

You don’t need the entire map.

You need enough light for the step in front of you.

So breathe.

Come back to today.

Do what you can.

Release what you can’t.

And when your mind starts trying to plan your entire life before bedtime, tell yourself:

“Girl…we are not solving 2026 tonight.” 😩😂

God will meet you tomorrow with fresh grace.

For now?

Receive the grace He has given you for today.

That is enough. 🤎✨
