A Soulful Sunday message for the season when you’re praying, waiting, growing…and wondering if anything is actually happening.

Sis…

Have you ever looked at your life and thought:

“God…hello? 👀”

Because you’ve been praying.

You’ve been trying.

You’ve been doing the work.

You’ve been healing.

You’ve been staying faithful.

You’ve been making better decisions.

And yet…

Nothing seems to be moving.

No big breakthrough.

No dramatic announcement.

No miraculous email.

No unexpected deposit. 😂

No flashing sign from heaven saying:

“CONGRATULATIONS, SIS! YOUR WAITING SEASON IS OFFICIALLY OVER!”

Just…

Quiet.

And if you’re not careful, you can start believing that because you can’t SEE God moving, He must not be doing anything.

But sis…

Quiet does not mean inactive.

Sometimes the most important things God does happen beneath the surface.

🌿 THINK ABOUT A SEED

When you plant a seed, you don’t stand over the dirt the next morning yelling:

“UMMM…HELLO?! WHERE IS MY TREE?” 😩😂

Because you understand something is happening underneath the soil.

Before you see anything above ground, roots are forming below it.

The seed is changing.

Something is developing.

Something is preparing to emerge.

But if you judged the process only by what you could see?

You would assume nothing was happening.

And sometimes we do the same thing with God.

We look around and say:

“Nothing has changed.”

But maybe things ARE changing.

Maybe they’re changing in places you cannot see yet.

🌿 GOD MAY BE WORKING ON THE ROOTS

We love fruit.

We love breakthroughs.

We love answered prayers.

We love doors opening.

We love the testimony.

But nobody gets excited about roots. 😂

Because roots aren’t glamorous.

Roots are hidden.

Nobody applauds roots.

Nobody posts:

“Y’all! Look at these ROOTS God gave me!” 😩😂

But without roots, you cannot sustain the fruit.

Maybe this season isn’t about what God is giving you.

Maybe it’s about what He’s developing IN you.

Patience.

Discernment.

Confidence.

Boundaries.

Wisdom.

Emotional maturity.

Discipline.

Self-worth.

A deeper relationship with Him.

Because sometimes God has to strengthen your roots before He increases your fruit.

🌿 NOT EVERY SEASON IS SUPPOSED TO BE LOUD

We live in a world that celebrates visible progress.

Announcements.

Promotions.

Engagements.

New houses.

New businesses.

New relationships.

Big opportunities.

Everybody is posting their highlight reel.

Meanwhile you’re sitting there thinking:

“Well…I learned how to stop arguing with people who are committed to misunderstanding me.” 😂

Sis…

THAT IS GROWTH.

Maybe you didn’t get the promotion yet, but you stopped tying your worth to your job title.

Growth.

Maybe the relationship hasn’t arrived yet, but you stopped accepting inconsistent love just because you were lonely.

Growth.

Maybe your business hasn’t reached the number you want yet, but you’re becoming disciplined enough to sustain it when it does.

Growth.

Maybe everything around you hasn’t changed yet…

but YOU have.

And that matters.

🌿 SOMETIMES GOD IS PROTECTING YOU FROM PREMATURE ACCESS

We pray:

“God, open the door.”

But sometimes God says:

“Not yet.”

Not because He’s punishing you.

Not because He forgot you.

Not because someone else deserves it more.

But because getting something before you’re ready to carry it can turn a blessing into a burden.

Some opportunities require maturity.

Some relationships require healing.

Some platforms require character.

Some financial blessings require discipline.

Some answered prayers require a version of you that is still developing.

So don’t despise preparation.

The waiting room may be frustrating…

but preparation is protection too.

🌿 STOP DIGGING UP THE SEED

This one right here. 👀

Imagine planting a seed and then digging it up every three days to see whether it’s growing.

Eventually, you would interrupt the process you’re praying for.

Sometimes we do this emotionally.

We pray about something…

Then worry about it.

Give it back to God…

Then take it back.

Trust Him Monday…

Panic Tuesday.

Declare, “God’s got it!” Wednesday…

And by Thursday we’re conducting a full FBI investigation trying to figure out how He’s going to do it. 😩😂

Sis…

Let the seed grow.

You don’t have to keep checking.

You don’t have to keep forcing.

You don’t have to manipulate the outcome.

You don’t have to chase what God told you to trust Him with.

Sometimes faith means leaving something in God’s hands long enough for Him to work on it.

🌿 YOUR QUIET SEASON IS NOT YOUR FORGOTTEN SEASON

Please hear this.

God has not forgotten you.

Isaiah 49:15–16 says:

“Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you! See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.”

You are not invisible to God.

He sees the prayers nobody knows you’re praying.

He sees the nights you’ve cried and still got up the next morning.

He sees the boundaries you’ve had to create.

He sees the habits you’re trying to change.

He sees you choosing peace when the old version of you would have chosen chaos.

He sees you.

Even when nobody else notices the growth.

🌿 DON’T FORCE SOMETHING JUST BECAUSE YOU’RE TIRED OF WAITING

Waiting can make us impatient.

And impatience can make almost anything look like an opportunity.

Baby…everything that opens is NOT a door from God. 😂

Sometimes it’s just an unlocked door.

Discernment matters.

Don’t choose the wrong relationship because you’re tired of being single.

Don’t accept the wrong opportunity because you’re afraid nothing else will come.

Don’t abandon your boundaries because somebody finally gave you attention.

Don’t rush yourself because everybody else appears to be ahead.

What’s meant for you shouldn’t require you to abandon the woman God has been helping you become.

📖 SCRIPTURE MEDITATION

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” — Ecclesiastes 3:1

Every season has purpose.

Even the quiet ones.

Even the confusing ones.

Even the seasons where it feels like you’re doing everything right and nothing is happening.

Winter doesn’t mean the tree is dead.

Sometimes it means the tree is conserving energy, strengthening itself, and preparing for what comes next.

Your life has seasons too.

And you don’t have to rush winter because you’re excited about spring.

🌸 SOUL WORK FOR THIS WEEK

Ask yourself:

Where have I mistaken silence for abandonment?

What growth is happening in me that I haven’t given myself credit for?

Am I trying to force something because I’m tired of waiting?

What might God be preparing me to sustain?

What has this season taught me about myself?

And finally:

Can I trust God even when I cannot see evidence yet?

🤎 CLOSING WORD

Sis…

Maybe nothing is wrong.

Maybe you’re not behind.

Maybe you didn’t miss your opportunity.

Maybe God didn’t forget your address. 😂

Maybe you’re simply in a season where the work is happening underground.

Roots are growing.

Your discernment is sharpening.

Your standards are changing.

Your confidence is developing.

Your faith is deepening.

Your nervous system is learning that peace is safe.

You’re becoming less impressed by things that once distracted you.

You’re learning not to chase.

Not to beg.

Not to force.

Not to settle.

And one day you’re going to look around and realize:

The season I thought nothing was happening was actually the season everything was changing.

So don’t dig up the seed.

Don’t rush the process.

Don’t compare your timeline.

Don’t mistake quiet for absence.

Keep watering.

Keep praying.

Keep healing.

Keep preparing.

Keep showing up.

Because just because you can’t see movement…

doesn’t mean God isn’t moving.

Something can be growing long before it becomes visible.

And sis…

what God is growing in you may be just as important as what you’re waiting for Him to give you.
