A Soulful Sunday message on healing, patterns, and redefining what love feels like
Sis…
sometimes the problem isn’t that peace is boring.
It’s that you’re not used to it.
You’re used to:
inconsistency
emotional highs and lows
overthinking
chasing clarity
wondering where you stand
So when something (or someone) comes into your life that is calm…
steady…
predictable…
it feels off.
You start thinking:
“Something’s missing.”
“Why does this feel so… quiet?”
But the truth is:
Nothing is missing.
You’re just experiencing peace for the first time.
Chaos Feels Familiar — Even When It’s Unhealthy
Sis… let’s be honest.
For a lot of us, chaos wasn’t just in relationships.
It was in:
our upbringing
our environments
our past connections
So we learned to associate:
anxiety with excitement
inconsistency with passion
emotional rollercoasters with love
We didn’t realize we were bonding with dysfunction.
We just thought that’s what love felt like.
Healthy Feels “Boring” Because It’s Safe
When you start healing, things change.
You encounter:
consistency instead of confusion
communication instead of guessing
calm instead of chaos
And your nervous system doesn’t recognize it.
Because it’s used to survival mode.
So instead of feeling peace…
you feel uncomfortable.
Not because it’s wrong —
but because it’s unfamiliar.
You’re Not Losing Interest — You’re Losing Chaos
Sis… that feeling of “this is too calm”
is not always a red flag.
Sometimes it’s a sign
that you’re stepping into something healthy.
You’re not bored.
You’re just not being triggered.
There’s no anxiety to feed off.
No confusion to chase.
No emotional rollercoaster to ride.
And for the first time…
your spirit can rest.
Healing Means Redefining What Feels “Normal”
Part of your growth is learning:
Peace is not boring.
Peace is safe.
Consistency is not predictable.
It’s secure.
Healthy love is not lacking.
It’s stable.
You’re not supposed to feel anxious all the time.
You’re not supposed to question everything.
You’re not supposed to fight for basic respect.
That’s not love.
That’s survival.
Scripture Meditation
“For God is not a God of confusion but of peace.”
— 1 Corinthians 14:33
If it’s constantly confusing, draining, and chaotic…
It’s not from God.
