Devotional: God, I’m Giving This Back to You

📖 Scripture

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

🌸 Reflection

Sis…

There comes a point when you have to admit:

“I cannot carry this anymore.”

And contrary to what you may have been taught, that confession is not weakness.

Sometimes it’s faith.

Because surrender requires you to believe that God can handle something without your constant intervention.

Maybe you’ve been carrying your family.

Your future.

Someone else’s decisions.

Financial concerns.

A relationship you’re desperately trying to fix.

Or simply the pressure of trying to make sure everything turns out okay.

God sees you.

But He never asked you to replace Him.

There are situations where your assignment is not to fix.

Your assignment is to pray, use wisdom, do what is yours to do…

and then release the outcome.

Today, imagine yourself placing that burden into God’s hands.

Not halfway.

Not, “God, You take it, but I’ll check back in five minutes.” 😂

Really surrender it.

And when your mind tries to pick it back up, remind yourself:

“I already gave that to God.”

You may have to surrender the same worry more than once.

That’s okay.

Keep releasing it until your heart learns what your faith already knows:

You are not carrying life alone.

✨ Affirmation

I release what I cannot control. I will do what God has given me to do and trust Him with the rest. I am allowed to live without carrying the weight of everyone and everything.

🤎 Prayer

Father,

I’m tired of carrying things that were never meant to rest on my shoulders.

Today, I give You my worries, my unanswered questions, my family, my future, my relationships, and every situation I keep trying to control.

Give me wisdom to know what is mine to handle and faith to release what belongs in Your hands.

Help me love people without rescuing them.

Help me support others without abandoning myself.

Help me stop believing everything depends on me.

When anxiety tells me to pick the burden back up, remind me that You are already carrying what I surrendered.

I trust You with what I know.

I trust You with what I don’t know.

And I trust You with what happens next.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

🌿 Journal Prompt

What burden have I been carrying that I need to give back to God today?

Then write:

“God, I release __________ to You because __________.”

🤎 Sunday Reminder

You can care deeply without carrying everything.

Do what belongs to you.

Give God what belongs to Him.

And walk into this week a little lighter, sis.
