“Come near to God and He will come near to you.” — James 4:8

Sis…
Sometimes we think we need to get ourselves together before coming to God.
Let me calm down first.
Let me stop crying.
Let me figure out what I’m feeling.
Let me get my faith back together.
Then I’ll pray.
But what if God doesn’t need you to get yourself together before coming to Him?
What if He simply wants you to come?
Come confused.
Come tired.
Come frustrated.
Come disappointed.
Come with questions.
Come when you don’t have the words.
God isn’t intimidated by your emotions.
He already knows what’s happening inside your heart.
Prayer doesn’t always have to sound beautiful.
Sometimes prayer is:
“God, I’m tired.”
“God, this hurt me.”
“God, I’m scared.”
“God, I don’t understand.”
“God, please help me.”
That’s still prayer.
That’s still relationship.
That’s still faith.
Faith isn’t pretending that everything is okay.
Faith is knowing where to go when everything isn’t okay.
So whatever you’re carrying today, don’t hide it from God.
Bring it.
You don’t have to clean up your emotions before entering His presence.
Let His presence meet you right in the middle of them.
✨ AFFIRMATION
I do not have to pretend to be strong for God. I can bring Him my fears, exhaustion, questions, and emotions. His grace meets me exactly where I am.
🤎 PRAYER
Father,
Today I’m coming to You exactly as I am.
Not pretending.
Not performing.
Not trying to find the perfect words.
You know what has been weighing on my heart.
You know where I’m tired.
You know what hurt.
You know the questions I haven’t said out loud.
Meet me here, God.
Give me grace for the parts of myself I’m still learning to understand.
Help me stop judging myself for being human.
Teach me when to push forward and when to rest.
Quiet the pressure I put on myself to always have everything together.
Remind me that my difficult moments don’t separate me from Your love.
When I am strong, You are with me.
When I am weak, You are with me.
When I know exactly what to pray, You are with me.
And when all I can say is “Jesus, help me,” You are still with me.
Thank You for being a God I don’t have to perform for.
I receive Your grace today.

Just come.
God knows how to meet you there.
